D-Rats Information

D-Rats is still a viable option for MCARES in Marion County, and you can send D-Rats forms directly to the EOC by connecting via D-Dtar radio to repeater KK4DFC and then using D-Rats to the connection MERTEOC. If you have permission you can connect via internet to the MCARES ratflector, but those connections are limited.

KK4DFC is the repeater with the most range, but it also has the weakest internet connection – telephone lines. So, KK4DFC will be the primary local D-Star/D-Rats connection over the air. Normally, KK4DFC is the only repeater connected to D-Rats at the EOC, but that can be changed by the EOC at any time they choose.

KG4NXO VHF and UHF go to the EOC trunk line, and REF037 C and REF030C will be operational. Those reflectrors can be turned off for D-Rats use locally, or the connect and send a D-rats message over a reflector to another EOC or ARES site.
